As a volunteer, depending on your interests and skills (especially your level of Spanish ability and willingness to use translation tools), you may work directly with clients. Our in-person tasks vary daily and involve clerical support, translating, interviewing, internal filing, and preparing materials to file in courts and with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Additionally, volunteers can support clients by providing transportation to/from USCIS appointments and hearings.

Don’t worry about having prior legal experience. Our organization connects new volunteers with a training session to learn how to work with us, and we can also connect you with experienced in-person volunteers who will be there to answer your questions and provide support. We recommend having at least 1-2 hours of time when coming to volunteer in person.
